The Spirit of Madison competes in many local competitions throughout the fall semester of high school. This includes all members of the high school concert band as well as a few 8th grade students and allows for many leadership opportunities. The marching band also performs at all home football game for Madison Central High School.

Band Camp: This is a required two week camp that happens before students start the school year. July 20- Freshmen Orientation @ 6-8 pm July 26-30 @8 am-4 pm July 31 - Uniform Check Out/Car Wash 9-1 pm August 2-6 @ 8 am-4 pm August 2- Wild Water West August 6- Parent Show @ 7 pm TBD - Night Photos @ 5 pm Football Games:
Students are to arrive at 6 pm (or earlier) to prepare & dress in uniform for all home football games. The band performs before the game and during halftime. September 3 September 17 September 24 October 8 October 22 Competitions/Other Performances:
These are all day events that take place around the local tri-state areas. These events are included in the grades of each member and are mandatory. September 11- Under the lights @ 8am-6pm, Performance @ 8pm - DSU Field September 18- Pursuit of Excellence- Marshall, MN September 25 - Tri-State Festival, Luverne, MN & Big Sioux Review-Brandon, SD September 25 -DSU Parade @ 10 am October 2- Festival of Bands - Sioux Falls, SD October 9 - Dutchmen Field Competition - Orange City, IA October 16 - Quad State - Vermillion, SD October 26 - Indoor Show- Madison HS Gym @ 7 pm |
